In this post I'll talk about offering a bike rack and cargo box to your listing.
I recently had the pleasure of reviewing the Vectus Sport Levitate bike rack. I used the bike rack on two separate trips from Santa Cruz. One to Joshua Tree and another to Boise. On both occassions, I found the ease of loading and unloading my bikes to be a joy compared with other systems I've used. The 2" inch receiver translated to a very stable system. In the past with other bike racks, I can remember the discomfort of watching the bikes bounce around in my rearview mirror. Not with the Levitate. It hardly budged.
This rack is the ultimate in great design. It's the lightest rack on the market at ~13lbs and one of the sturdiest I've tried. That, coupled with the lowest cost of ~$290.00 makes it hard to recommend any other rack. It also looks great with high quality steel and Aluminum throughout.
The rack has a dove tail hitch mount that slides into the rack's receiver and can be left in the hitch's receiver. It takes 5 seconds to slide in the rack and then another 5 seconds to slide the bike's crank into the crank-arm slot in the rack. Tighten the crank knob to secure the bike and you're ready to go. The mount also has a large hole allowing you to add a lock securing both your receiver and bike.
It's an incredibly sturdy design as evident by the lack of up/down or sideways movement as seen from your rearview mirror when driving.
The rack holds two bikes and fits all major bike frames and up 2.5" width tires. It's sturdy enough to even carry eBikes. Vectus will offer trays that can easily slide in for the fat tire enthusiast.
While you can certainly find other bike racks, I have not found one that comes close in terms of cost, quality, lightweight and simplicity.
Next on the list is a cargo box. There are many cargo boxes out there and the newer ones generally have similar features.
I was surprised by the sheer number of people I found on Letgo and Craigslist renting their cargo boxes for between $15 and $20.
I have the Yakima Skybox Carbonite 16. It's a super roomy cargo box which hauls plenty, and is aerodynamically designed with golf ball like dimples to reduce drag and wind noise. Internal lid stiffeners add rigidity while the SuperLatch ensures security. It opens on right or left side and only requires one hand. I have been continually amazed at how great it is to have the box open on either the left or right side.
Not only should you offer both the cargo box and bike rack on your listing but offer them separately on sites like Craigslist and Letgo.
